We're Esther, from Spain, and Inès, from France; two working mums raising our young families in Dubai.

When Esther became pregnant after living in Dubai for a few years, she realised that becoming a mum in a different country feels very different. Suddenly, there are so many questions. What do you actually need? Which brands are worth it? Where can you find beautiful, good-quality baby clothes without overspending?

She also found it surprisingly difficult to find maternity clothes locally, as there weren’t many options available. Coming from Spain, she wanted her baby to wear the timeless European styles she had grown up with, clothes that felt familiar, comforting, and close to home, but that weren’t always easy to find in Dubai. In the end, she often ended up buying maternity and baby clothes abroad and bringing them back, carrying extra suitcases and a lot of effort for something that should have felt simple.

Furthermore, she missed the small, everyday things from home: sisters, cousins and family friends passing clothes from one child to the next. Growing up, wearing clothes from relatives was completely normal, even before the term preloved existed. There was always a little excitement when another bag of clothes arrived, wondering what treasures might be inside. It's not something you would usually experience when you're raising your family far from home.

For Inès, the motivation was just as personal. She's always loved preloved fashion and has long been passionate about reducing the impact of the fashion industry, one of the world's biggest polluters. Becoming a mum only made that awareness stronger, especially seeing how quickly babies outgrow clothes that have barely been worn.

She started questioning how much perfectly good clothing simply gets stored away or forgotten, and how much better it would be if those pieces could keep circulating between families instead of being wasted. For her, preloved has never been about compromise; it’s about giving beautiful clothes a second life and making more mindful choices feel natural, not difficult.

That's why we decided to continue the journey of Bump & Baby.

More than anything, we wanted to create a community we wished we'd had when we became mums. A place where parents can support one another, share beautiful clothes, and make motherhood feel a little easier.

Alongside that, we wanted to create a trusted space where families across Dubai and the UAE can buy and sell carefully curated preloved baby clothes and maternity wear with confidence. A place where mums can save money, earn something back from clothes their little ones have outgrown, and make more sustainable choices without compromising on quality or style.

Because motherhood can feel overwhelming (especially when you're far from home). Sometimes what you need isn't just a babygrow or a nursing dress; it's knowing someone else has been through the same experience.

Inès, from France, and Esther, from Spain, met in Dubai while navigating the early years of motherhood. Like many parents, we were overwhelmed by how quickly our children outgrew their clothes — and how much perfectly good clothing was left behind.

What began as conversations between friends soon became a purpose‑driven project: a curated marketplace where parents can buy and sell pre‑loved baby and maternity clothing in Dubai with confidence and ease.
